The largest resort casino in North America, Foxwoods Resort Casino, attracts millions of visitors annually. To reduce its operating costs and reliance on the local power grid, Foxwoods engaged A/Z to install a 15 MW combined heating and power (CHP) solution, consisting of two 7.5 MW Solar Taurus 70 gas combustion turbines with two heat recovery steam generators. A number of logistical challenges, including the resort’s 24/7 occupancy and the central utility plant’s second floor location, were overcome through extensive collaboration by the project team.
