Pfizer’s Organic Synthesis Plant (OSP) in Groton, CT incorporates state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies to further their pharmaceutical research and development. The six-story specialty facility underwent renovations including the construction and architectural fitout of a process control room, office space, and support areas. Extensive preplanning and attention to safety were necessary during the electrical and instrumentation efforts, which incorporated four new process applications into the facility’s operational cGMP process plant. A/Z provided construction services for this renovation, along with self-performing the electrical work for a Rosemund filter dryer with a mother liquor tank and vacuum skid additions. The project was completed safely while minimizing disruption to Pfizer’s ongoing manufacturing efforts.
