UTC Aerospace Systems selected A/Z for the construction and commissioning of a CHP plant. The plant, designed by N.K. Engineering, Saren Engineering, and Loomis & Loomis, houses a 5.4 MW Solar Taurus 60 gas turbine capable of producing 65,000 pounds of 300 psi steam per hour, exceeding the current demand for both process and heating. It is now serving the many facilities within the UTC campus, including the Engineering Laboratories, an area that allows researchers to conduct rigorous trials on aerospace equipment.
