A/Z provided specialty construction services for emergency power generation and UPS upgrades at Encompass’ Stamford, CT operations and broadcasting facility. The existing backup power infrastructure here consisted of two sets of backup power equipment each consisting of a codependent generator and uninterruptible power supply (UPS). With the installation of a new Cummins generator paralleling switchgear, either generator could support either UPS. Three new Cummins 800 kW diesel-fire generators were installed as well as all associated cabling, exhausts and exhaust silencers, and vibration isolators. Additionally, a pair of APC 500 kVA/270 kW UPS systems were installed.
