Electric Boat engaged A/Z to design and construct the Mold-in-Place (MIP) Tank Farm, an array that stores and conditions different liquid raw materials prior to their use in production. The MIP Tank Farm was integrated into the structure of the Coatings Facility, a two-story, 25,000 sf building designed to blast and paint submarine hull sections up to 90 feet in diameter. The MIP Tank Farm consists of three vessels ranging up to 10,000 gallons in size and outfitted with the necessary pumps, valves, piping, and insulation. Extensive equipment, device, and MEP infrastructure installations were necessary for this critical system.
