This iniative encompassed the relocation of Lawrence + Memorial’s morgue department from its existing location in the basement of the hospital to the second floor.  The renovated area encompasses an autopsy room, family viewing lounge, locker room and walk-in cooler. Due to the location of the morgue, extensive work was required within the microbiology laboratory to allow for necessary connections to rooftop units. Microbiology is never vacant due to its critical role within the hospital; therefore, it was crucial that all work caused no disruption to the ongoing services. The health and safety of hospital patients, patrons and staff was a top priority to the A/Z team.
